Aurélien Leroy

Born in Castres, in the Tarn region, Aurélien Leroy is a versatile French rider. He began riding at the age of 12 in pony show jumping and progressed quickly to the Grand Prix level. His first high-level career was in eventing: three selections for the French youth team for the European Championships, with notable placings at Blair Castle and Jardy, and participation in major events such as Boekelo and the Lion-d'Angers World Championships. In 2016, he achieved 3* international rankings before transitioning to show jumping, a discipline that increasingly attracted him. This shift became clear after the 2018 3* Grand Prix of Montpellier with Rhexia de Petra, who finished clear and 6th, and was accompanied by a return to the ministerial list of high-level show jumping athletes.

The year 2020 confirmed his rise: a victory in the CSI 3* Grand Prix and a second place in another GP with Vendôme d’Ick. In spring 2021, he achieved a decisive double clear round with Croqsel de Blaignac at the Gorla Minore Nations Cup, securing victory for France.

His rise to prominence continued: he won the CSI 3* Grand Prix in San Giovanni in Marignano (August 2022) with Croqsel, then in 2023, he finished third in the 1.50m GP at the CSI 3* in Vilamoura and third in the 5* Grand Prix at the CSIO in Rotterdam.

In February 2024, the pair won a 1.45m class at the CSI 3* in Valencia; In April 2024, he achieved a superb second place in the 1.60m Grand Prix at the CSI 5* in Fontainebleau, behind Steve Guerdat.
